Year-end statements: which document is which, and what to do with it
In February and March employers send a one-page summary of your year. It is the document the tax return is built on. Payslop decodes these too.
Luxembourg: certificat de rémunération
Annual gross, exempt amounts, contributions, taxable salary, tax withheld, credits applied, tax class. Feeds form 100 or 163 and, for cross-border workers, the home return.
Germany: Lohnsteuerbescheinigung
Numbered lines: 3 gross, 4 Lohnsteuer, 5 Soli, 6-7 Kirchensteuer, 22-27 social contributions. Copy to Anlage N and Anlage Vorsorgeaufwand. Deadline 31 July.
Belgium: fiche 281.10
Codes 250 (salary), 260 (RSZ), 286 (withholding), 302 (meal vouchers). Pre-filled in Tax-on-web; check them.
France: December cumulatives and the pre-filled return
Net imposable (1AJ), withholding (8HV), exempt overtime (1GH). Compare the pre-filled 2042 with the December payslip.
United Kingdom: P60, P45, P11D
P60 by 31 May: total pay, tax, NI, final tax code. Use for Self Assessment or a P800 refund claim.
Check your own payslip. Upload it and every line is explained, the rates verified and the questions for HR written for you. Free, nothing stored. Decode my payslip
Questions people ask
Can Payslop read these?
Yes: upload the certificate like a payslip. Each box is explained and the checks say what to verify against your December payslip.
